On Tuesday, April 1, 2025, members of the United to House LA (UHLA) Coalition hosted a press conference to mark the two-year anniversary of Measure ULA. Dozens of community members and advocates gathered at 316 North Juanita Avenue, where 177 union-built, ULA-funded, affordable homes are currently under construction and are set to open in June.
On Wednesday, November 13, 2024, the ULA COC successfully hosted the first annual Town Hall at the Terasaki Budokan Center in Little Tokyo. Over 80 people attended, including community members and housing and labor representatives from across the County.

Measure ULA has proven itself effective in improving housing conditions in Los Angeles, and the city has now joined 16 other cities and counties across the nation that have enacted progressive taxes on high-price real estate sales (i.e. “mansion taxes”).
Rent Debt and Tenant Vulnerability as Los Angeles COVID-19 Eviction Protections Expire - The Housing Initiative at Penn
On February 1, the last of the City of Los Angeles' COVID-19 renter protections will expire and up to 93,000 renters that may owe debt between October 2021 to January 2023 may be newly vulnerable to eviction.
City Council motioned to amend Ordinance No. 187736 prohibiting landlords from evicting tenants until determination of a ULA application status has been made.

The ULA Citizen Oversight Committee (COC) was created to oversee and monitor the implementation of the Measure.
Per SEC. 22.618.6 (b) of the ULA Ordinance
“The Oversight Committee shall monitor and audit the Fund; advise the Mayor, the Department, and the City Council on priorities and the Program Guidelines authorized by Subdivision (c)(1) of this section; make recommendations to the Department, the Mayor and the City Council regarding appropriations, Expenditure Plans, administration of the House LA Fund, and implementation of the House LA Program.”
